Erik Falk brings three decades of asset management and credit markets experience to his role as the Head of Strategy at Magnetar, in which Erik helps guide overall firm strategy and evaluates and implements new investment strategies for the firm. He is also involved in day-to-day investment and portfolio management for the firm’s Alternative Credit and Fixed Income business.
Prior to joining Magnetar in September 2017, Erik was a Partner and the Global Head of Private Credit at KKR & Co. Inc., where he oversaw the private funds within the firm’s credit business. While at KKR, Erik served on the Private Credit Investment, Leveraged Credit Investment and Portfolio Management Committees. Previously, Erik spent eight years at Deutsche Bank, holding several roles in the bank’s global markets division including founding the special situations group and co-heading the global securitized products group.
Erik has served on several boards including those of Home Partners of America, Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA), Corporate Capital Trust, and Corporate Capital Trust II.
Erik earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.
