David Wilansky is a Senior Strategist at Magnetar Capital, who works within the Office of the CEO. He spearheads strategic initiatives for the firm’s Systematic Investing business and sits on the Investment Committee for three of the firm’s systematic strategies.
David also plays a lead role governing the direction of the Magnetar Capital Foundation’s financial education initiatives. Today, more than 27,500 students across 13 states have received a financial education due to the program’s work.
Prior to joining Magnetar in 2009, David was an Investment Banking Vice President at Barclays Capital, and was previously an Investment Banking Associate at Lehman Brothers before Barclays’ acquisition of Lehman’s North American investment banking and trading divisions in 2008. In the role, he executed capital markets and M&A transactions for the asset management industry.
Before that, David was an Associate Attorney for Bracewell LLP, where he focused on real estate and corporate matters. He began his professional career at Bridgewater Associates serving as a Research Associate focused on macroeconomic, markets and strategy development research.
David earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dartmouth College and his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
